Projects > TWOR - Pā Reo

Pā Reo adds three new classroom buildings and an administration building totaling approximately 1,800m² to the Te Wananga o Raukawa campus.

Designed under the Living Building Challenge (LBC) principles, these buildings aim for self-sufficiency in power and water consumption, utilizing about 500 photovoltaic panels and a 40,000-liter rainwater harvesting system.

A high-performing building envelope minimizes the need for mechanical heating and cooling. Natural ventilation combined with heat recovery systems ensures quality internal environments for students and staff.

Construction materials meet LBC Redlist standards.

The Living Building Challenge is among the most stringent environmental rating schemes, and Pā Reo is one of only 36 projects worldwide to achieve accreditation.
